JOSHUA BERGASSE has been involved in dance education for over 30 years.  Besides, teaching regularly at the prestigious Broadway Dance Center and Steps On Broadway in NYC, he also has taught on multiple convention tours such as NYCDA, Revel, Tremaine and Manhattan Dance Project. He’s been a guest artist at universities across the country including NYU, Indiana University, Pace University, Marymount Manhattan, UC Irvine and many others and he continues to travel to studios and dance festivals nationally as well as internationally.  

Josh started his career as a young dancer on Broadway and then transitioned to choreography and direction for Stage, Television and Film.  He is the Emmy Award-winning choreographer for NBC’s musical drama SMASH, and received a Tony nomination as well as the Astaire Award for his choreography of the Broadway revival, ON THE TOWN. He also choreographed the Broadway musical CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY  produced by Warner Bros, as well as the revival of GIGI on Broadway.  Josh directed and choreographed the New York premiere of the re-imagined production of SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ. He also choreographed SWEET CHARITY starring Sutton Foster, winning the prestigious Chita Rivera Award for excellence in choreography. For Encores! at New York City Center Josh directed and choreographed I MARRIED AN ANGEL starring his wife, NYCB Principal Sara Mearns.  Other credits include the Off-Broadway productions of BOMB-ITTY OF ERRORS and CAGNEY; multiple episodes of Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE; Marvels HAWKEYE for Disney+; JESSICA JONES for Netflix; the feature film GROWN UPS 2 with Adam Sandler;  MONSTERLAND for Hulu; A CAPITOL FOURTH, SINATRA: VOICE FOR A CENTURY and THE KENNEDY CENTER 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION all for PBS.
