CAITLIN TRAINOR, Founder and CEO

Caitlin Trainor is a dynamic force in the dance world, renowned for her innovation and creativity. Over years working in NYC as dancer, choreographer, and artistic director, Caitlin saw firsthand the need for affordable, geographically accessible, excellent quality class. 
In addition to founding Dancio, Trainor is founding artistic director of Trainor Dance. She creates dances for site, game-based audience interactive work, and extravagant group dances for the concert stage. The company’s work is robustly physical and intensely human, and has been performed at renowned venues up and down the east coast. 
As an educator, Caitlin teaches at Barnard College/Columbia University, along with studios, conferences, colleges, and schools, including American Ballet Theatre and Rosie’s Theater Kids. 

Named by Dance Magazine as one of “25 to Watch”, Caitlin is frequently featured in podcasts and interviews where she shares insights into her artistic journey and the challenges she has overcome in the dance industry.

With her infectious passion for dance and commitment to inclusivity, her work continues to inspire a new generation of dancers and dance lovers. 

In 2015, with a vision to reduce barriers to access of world class dance education, Caitlin Trainor founded Dancio.

The company’s first offering was a boutique collection of ballet classes taught by Julie Kent, Craig Hall, Lauren King, and Carlos Lopez, which remain among the company’s most popular offerings.

Since its founding, Dancio has been used by thousands of dancers in over 180 countries around the globe!
