An understudy for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company from 2007-2009, Dylan worked on the creations of Xover (2007) and Nearly Ninety (2009) with Cunningham, before joining the main company in 2009 dancing through the Legacy Tour. He is a two-time Bessie Award recipient, has taught at Barnard, SUNY Purchase, Rutgers, Sarah Lawrence, ADF and is a stager for the Cunningham Trust. A freelance dancer, teacher and choreographer, Dylan works with Kimberly Bartosik, Ryan McNamara, Pam Tanowitz, Sally Silvers, Amber Sloan and Megan Williams. He recently made his curatorial debut with a Works & Process at the Guggenheim Museum as well as an Event at the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto) focusing both on Cunningham's work and legacy. Dylan’s company, Crossman Dans(c)e, looks at humanity in formalism and has been called “compellingly poetic” by the New York Times. It has been presented at most venues in NYC and abroad in Montreal and Montpellier (France). Crossman has made original work on SUNY Purchase College, Western Arkansas Ballet and Burklyn Ballet Theatre, is a Jerome Foundation grant recipient and was a part of the Harkness Dance Festival 2019 (NYC). Crossman also works with adults and children, using Merce's work and philosophy to provide conflict resolution and social integration. The company will present work at the Festival des Arts de Saint Sauveur this summer. www.dylancrossman.org
